Green Smoothies are a fabulous way to get the health benefits of green vegetables with relatively little effort. Taking the time to tweet the taste and flavour to your liking can take practice. The most important component of a green smoothie is the fibre which is important for a healthy microbiome. It is therefore preferable to blend rather than juice the ingredients. This recipe makes enough juice for two servings.
1 small green apple or half a cup of fresh pineapple
2 Short celery stalks
1 Small cucumber, chopped
1 Lemon, peeled
1 Handful fresh parsley or mint
1 tsp Fresh ginger
1 tsp Matcha powder (optional)
1 Handful washed baby spinach leaves
2 Scoop vanilla or unflavoured whey protein isolate
300ml cold water
Blend all of the ingredients in a blender or NutriBullet and process until completely smooth.
