Basil is easy to grow and has numerous health benefits. Basil Contains Powerful Antioxidants. Is Anti-inflammatory and contains natural antibacterial properties. It is also a powerful adaptogen, helping your body cope with the effects of stress. This recipes includes lemon zest which, besides great flavour is a natural antioxidant.


1 bunch fresh basil (2 packed cups)

1/2 Clove garlic, crushed

2 TBSP pine nuts, lightly toasted

1/4 Cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

3 TBSP extra virgin olive oil

1 TBSP fish lemon zest

Sea salt and black pepper.


In a food processor or Nutribullet, place the crushed garlic, salt and basil leaves. Processes for two seconds, or until roughly chopped but not liquidised.

Add the pine nuts, oil parmesan, pepper and zest.

Process again for a couple of seconds.

Adjust salt to your taste preference.
